Business Networking At Kuki

More than 30 different businesses visited Kuki on Wednesday 29 June as we hosted the North Notts Business Connections Business Breakfast.

There was a great atmosphere as everyone packed into Kuki HQ for tea, coffee and breakfast rolls.

After introductions from everyone, Director of Kuki Simon Nicholls invited everyone on a tour of the hangar to view the impressive Kuki fleet.

“It  was great to see such a large turnout at today’s event and to welcome everyone to Kuki and Gamston Airport. The feedback and interest we received from the people here today about getting into flying and finding out more about helicopters and our business was really positive,” said Simon.

Dave Pickles, of Paint Man Paint Ltd in Retford, was the lucky winner of our business card prize draw for a free helicopter flight.

If you missed this morning, don’t worry you can visit Kuki at any time. We’re open 7 days a week and can cater for lessons and visits at times to suit you.

Making Dreams Come True at Bluebell Wood

Kuki Director Simon Nicholls took time out on Friday to give some very special children at Bluebell Wood Hospice a VIP helicopter flight with their families.

Jack, Kasabian, Ebony, Tyler and Lilly-Mai got a fantastic bird’s eye view of the local area during the afternoon.

Vicky, mum of Jack aged 10, who was the first ever child at Bluebell Wood Hospice at eight months old said: “Jack and I will cherish this memory forever. I can’t thank Kuki enough for what you have done today. Jack loves talking about flying, helicopters and aeroplanes, and it has made his wish come true to be able to fly today.”

Tammy, mum of Ebony aged 6, said: “It has been a truly special afternoon that we will never forget. It’s a once in a lifetime experience for Ebony and you will never know what it means to us.”

Eight-year-old Kasabian, being treated for bone cancer, took his puppet friend Spud along for the flight and said it was his best day ever.

Kuki Director, Simon Nicholls said: “It’s so nice to see how excited the children and families were when we arrived. The flights today were amongst the most special I have ever flown and I feel privileged to be able to meet such inspiring children and families.”

Liz, Director of Care at the Hospice said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to Simon and Kuki Helicopters for being able to give our children such an amazing once in a lifetime experience. I can’t thank you enough for helping us to create unforgettable memories.”

Farewell to Chris after 16 years with Kuki

After 16 years of flying and working with Chris, I am really sad to be saying farewell to him today on his last day with Kuki.

We’ve had a great time together, with lots of laughs and memories over the years.

Chris is becoming a Commercial Pilot for a company based at Gamston Airport, so at least we will still see each other every day! I wish him well and he has my full support in his future career. Kuki will continue to offer the same excellent service and tuition as ever, and we are looking forward to welcoming Matt Peach to the team in July.

Matt learnt to fly with Kuki and will move from being our part-time Instructor to our full-time Commercial Pilot and Instructor. I’m also looking forward to spending more time back in the helicopter myself, after a few years out of the saddle!

I’m sure you will all join me in wishing Chris all the best for the future.

Anthony gets his passport to the skies!

Congratulations to Anthony Cundall, Kuki’s latest student to pass his PPL.

Anthony is the third student in the past month to gain their licence with Kuki.

“It’s a great feeling to have a helicopter licence,” said Anthony, 37.

After 16 years flying fixed-wing, mostly jets and vintage aircraft, Anthony was recommended to helicopter training at Kuki by a friend a year ago.

“I’m so pleased I did it. It’s a very different feeling to flying fixed-wing, with far more adrenaline. I love the flexibility and advantages of being able to land anywhere, rather than always at an airport. It’s great and if anyone is considering their first lesson, I would certainly encourage them to do it.”
